Today, I am going to indulge you all in my typical Saturday morning routine. Probably my most relaxed morning is a Saturday as the weekdays are pretty rushed and Sunday I’m at Dan’s house so its not as homey as a Saturday Morning!
I don’t set an alarm for Saturdays, so I just wake up whenever, usually between 7.30-8 (I’m quite the keen bean in the morning) and have a little stretch… for my phone & check all my social media, twitter: @fran_page Instagram: smallfloss.
After this I drag myself out of bed, whack my workout clothes, grab my macbook and off I pop downstairs… I tend to say good morning to the dogs at this point too. I like to get a workout done in the morning on a Saturday, just because I then feel like I have the whole day ahead of me to do whatever and don’t have to worry about working out. I load up my macbook and pop on one of Lucy’s videos – which I absolutely adore. Normally I repeat the same video – until I’ve got a proper sweat on, then I usually huff and puff for a bit and grab a big glass a water.
Now we’re at the good stuff, Breakfast – my favourite meal of the day. Ever since I discovered my love of porridge, I have loved breakfast, or even before that, but now just more so. I could not imagine not eating breakfast, it just sets me up for the day perfectly… especially porridge.
Personally, I pour some oats into a bowl (don’t precisely measure them), pop some milk on top (however much I feel like) and whack it in the microwave for 3 1/2 – 4 mins. Until it’s a bit stodgy but not too stodgy! Now for the toppings… I load up my porridge with strawberries, blueberries, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaked almonds, Lindwoods Flax seed mix and finally cacao powder. Pure Heaven. I accompany all this with a lovely Tetley decaf cup of tea 🙂
Beginning the Day:
When I have dragged myself out of my breakfast slump! I brush my teeth, wash my face and get dressed, ready to go and walk the dogs.
