Since around February my skin has been very lack lustre (probably just because I’m always tired…). I have tried multiple different foundations, moisturisers, cleansers etc, but nothing seemed to be working. Some would say I was having a bit of a mare in the skincare/beauty department!
Although recently my friend recommended me this:
Amie Skincare Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser, a staple in her skincare routine.
So off I went to my local Waitrose, (check the website for other stockists) to see what else Amie Skincare provided in their product range and if there was anything I fancied. Now, of course when looking at all the beautiful packaging… I wanted it all. I did however, manage to refrain to just two items (a struggle); Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser & the Morning Clean Purifying Facial Wash. – both of which smell AMAZING, literally I am obsessed with the smell.
My routine for the past month has been as follows:
First thing in the morning, I dampen my face with warm water and using my hands pop a bit of the Purifying Facial Wash on my face, lightly swirling it. If I am in a rush (aka most mornings) I use my fingers, if not I use my Foreo Luna 2 face exfoliator brush (if you would like I can do a separate full review on this) – a really soft but thorough way of getting out all the dirt. After this step I simply get a damp flannel… if I can find one…and wash off the cleanser, where apart from looking slightly dazed (its early at this point!), my skin feels so clean and soft and ofcourse, smells delightful!
To conclude, I pat my face dry and load on the Matte-Finish moisturiser, which has a creamy but not too heavy on the face consistency, soaks in well and again leaves the skin feeling hydrated and healthy.
Since doing a bit more research into the Amie Skincare brand I found a few more items in their product range that weren’t on sale at my local waitrose which I would love to try out. One being the Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturiser – as much as I love the Matte one, I do have quite dry skin at times, so would like to see if this one left me with more of a dewy glow. Another product I would like to try is the Petal Perfect Cleansing Micellar Water – I currently use the Garnier one and swear by it, so it would be interesting to compare the two.
The Amie skincare company itself promotes natural formulas, suitable for vegans and vegetarians. There are no parabens, mineral oils, sulphates within any of the formulas which are all dermatologically tested.
Personally I think this a great brand,
