Welcome back my lovelies and Happy Halloween! I can not believe it’s 31st October already, where has this year gone!? On the plus side it means Christmas is so soon & I love Christmas. Firstly though we have Halloween, a glorious holiday in my opinion, I have visions of American streets covered in Halloween gear with millions of children ‘trick or treating’ – I so want to go to America for Halloween!
Tonight alas I will not be trick or treating, to be honest I never get trick or treaters at my house, I think there is an unwritten rule where if you don’t have a pumpkin outside you’re not participating in Halloween!
To get in the Halloween spirit I will be watching Hocus Pocus for the 2nd time this season, such a classic film. Another film I used to love watching was Halloween Town 1,2 & 3… I used to wish I was Marnie. Hocus Pocus is probably the scariest film I’ll watch at Halloween, I hate hate hate scary films, I will not sleep for weeks if I catch a glimpse of one! When I was little I had nightmares about the 1st Harry Potter film when Voldemort turns into dust!… It was a hard time in my life.
My sweet choice for the evening will be Old Spooky Hen – the perfect Halloween drink. Old Spooky Hen is a limited edition of the classic malty and toffee ale, Old Speckled Hen, in addition this year, the ‘spookified’ beer range has been extended to include mini kegs, ideal for a spook-tacular Halloween party. Old Spooky Hen is available to buy now in selected stores including Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda until Tuesday October 31st. We had some Halloween festivities at work today with these little pumpkin biscuits from the local cafe. These were a bloomin dream… with a bit of pumpkin spice flavouring, what more could you need.
I’m so sad to not have a Halloween Party to go to because I really do enjoy all things Halloween. Although the Bake Off Final is on, so I will have to make room for that after Hocus Pocus… have to watch the final. When I was little and probably still now, I love reading books about witches and wizards… there is just something that really encapsulates my imagination with witchcraft and wizardry! – Now you know why I love Harry Potter so much.
What are your Halloween plans?
Fran, X
Such a cute post! Tonight I will be watching HalloweenTown and will be decorating pumpkins.

Halloween plans are to snuggle up with my partner and watch Stranger things and maybe a scary movie – with Bloody Marys, junk food, sweets, strudel and hot chocolate! And then to have a very long sleep as we both have a day off tomorrow!
